Would persons leaving private messages regarding interest in dulcimers please re-post those privately. They were posted without e-mail addressses. I have now made e-mail addresses required for that reason (though they willl not be shown on the guestbook). Thank you.

I own #187, built on 5/20/ 75. It is a 40" AD-4. I am originally from Altoona. This dulcimer is the finest instrument I have ever owned. I still play it and it is in mint condition. I have re-energized my music in the last four years, and play flute, guitar, and dulcimer in both professional and inormal settings. I was wonderfully surprised to find this site!

I bought a (cheap) dulcimer last spring because I wanted to learn play. Well, I have since found that it does not have a 61/2 fret and the first fret is misplaced causing many of the notes played to be flat. I guess that is what I get for buying someting on my own and trying to teach myself. Your site is wonderful and I have learned a great deal jsut by reading. Thank you.

Thanks for all the detail on dulcimer construction. I'm planning to build a dulcimer and considering chromatic or at least 1-1/2 and 8-1/2. I like shellac. My Warren May dulcimer is curly maple and very nice sounding.
