How to Get Around in the Index

This is a simple site to use. Here's how:

Select an item from the menu on the left of the opening screen (which we call Opening Banter) and you will find yourself looking at a group of icons like index cards. These icons stand for articles or groups of articles in Sweet Music Index.

The selection of an index card brings you to an a list of articles on the chosen topic (or, in some cases, a single article). This is called a sub-menu. Notice that when you pass your cursor over the titles in the sub-menu, they change color (this effect is called mouseover -- a great new word for the English language). When the title changes color, select it with your mouse, and the article will appear on your monitor's screen.

At the end of each article is a hourglass dulcimer shape (see below). Choose this with your cursor and you will pop to the top of the article.

The best way back to from where you came is the back-button on your Internet browser. Also, any index card icon will take you back to the sub-menu where you started. Selection of the Sweet Music Index logo to the left of each article's title returns you to Opening Banter.

Don't easily trust a book with no index. So too a Web site. The Sweet Music Site Index provides an overview of the contents of the Index in outline form. Get to the Index's index by selecting the main menu item Site Index. From there mouseover will take you to the article you desire.

Now, to get started, hit the back-button or the logo above and you will return to Opening Banter.
